Labor and scheduling are the hard part
Anyone who has run a restaurant knows labor is the cost you fight every week. Schedule too many people and wages eat into the day's sales. Schedule too few and orders run late, the line backs up, and your best people burn out. Then the week changes anyway: someone calls in sick, two people swap a shift, a holiday is busier or quieter than you planned for.
For most of those years, hours lived on paper time sheets. Someone had to add them up, check them against the schedule, chase down missed punches and type it all into payroll, usually at the restaurant and usually late at night.
Why I built Shiftova
I built Shiftova for the people who do that admin work: owners, managers and office staff. Three problems came first.
